Getting drowned

I gave myself another one week break before I can go all crazy on my sem break plan and with that in mind, I spent most of my days with Eidulfitr activities, movies and also, reading.

It's only fair to say that I haven't read for a very long time, I forgot how to. Deciding which book to read was already hard enough and feeling guilty towards other books was another thing. Not to mention that I have one row of untouched books, in which I've been cajoling myself with, "It's okay. You will find the time" and ended up buying more. *swims in the piles of untouched books

Anyway, as I was browsing my blog labels/tags, I noticed that I only have one post under book review . Will it's destiny be as bad as my other blog posts too ? Hahaha.

Now will you excuse me,
I gotta go pick a really good book to read. I have a pride to protect :P

Next semester, we will start our practicum at the school and I know it's a weird thing to say but I'm going to miss doing my assignments, making notes, running to classes and seeing my enthusiastic lecturers. Most importantly, I'm going to miss staying up and seeing Nana and Mayra cry as they struggle to finish their work hahaha. Although of course, their smiles and laughter would forever be engraved in my mind that I hope I won't feel the need to miss those snorts and shrill voices :)

The beautiful journey will end soon but I hope the new path that we'll take in less than a month won't be any less beautiful.

For the time being, let's finish the notes!

A letter to 16 years old Ain Irdina

A letter to the past,

To my dearest cubemate,

I'm currently writing from the future. I had a very peculiar dream these past few days.

Of you and me munching Hup Seng dipped in Milo , in the middle of the nights.
Of you and me, blocking the entrance of EO to watch movies together every time after exams.
Of you and me, going to surau together, iftar together, terawih together.
Of you and me, talking to each other from the other side of the toilet cubicles.
Of you and me, throwing socks and other things to the cubes beside us.
Of you and me, calling each other with weird names and eventually stuck with 'Kubis'. *God. I still think Lobak is way cuter.
And most of all, in my dream of the past,
I saw us, wondering about our future.
Well, let me tell you about that... I'm not really sure about other future but what I can say about us is; we are still going strong :)

Past Kubis, don't worry. Things work perfectly fine. You thought you couldn't endure a few things yet here you are, in the future ; couldn't be more contented with what you have.

Thank you for surviving the past years and still be here today. And alhamdulillah, both of us are still alive to be celebrating another year of blessings.

Dear cubemate, I honestly love you for all the peptalks and gentle reminders, I don't think I can thank you enough. I hope your past self is happy to hear this .
Happy Birthday, from your cutest cubemate (2016)

She was a beautiful savage

I just discovered this one male poet and most of his writings are about standing up for women!
How cool is that ?
And no, he's not gay. Haha

Nevertheless, I can't seem to find his books, 'Born to Love, Cursed to Feel', and 'Whiskey and Shovel' in the bookstore. Maybe they're not here in Malaysia yet.

Saw him posting a sneak peek of his poem and it led me to this drawing

She was a beautiful savage
unapologetic but sweet
delicate but tough
brave enough
to walk through hell
in search of her own piece
of heaven
unafraid of the flames

-r.h. Sin-

Okay first of all, that past tense in the beginning of paragraph sparked my curiosity the most, I don't know why! And the way r.h. Sin ended her endurance of hell to find her piece of heaven that once belong to her, was just ... liberating.
And don't even make me start about the oxymorons of her characteristics. Haih. Loving it.

Poems with the manifestation of tenacity and perseverance are always my favourites :)
Hoping to add more in the list

So I learned to draw tulips with one stroke brush technique today.
And it didn't go pretty well.
But I covered it by adding a ballerina in the middle of the drawing.
Hahaha.

When in doubt, always add a silhouette in your drawing.

p/s : Will never try to draw tulips like this ever again.

Study week

I loooooove looooove loooooove study week.
It's the only free time I have to rewrite and redraw my notes.
I like seeing them in colours, and hence,
I don't really mind about the troubles.
Will do it three or four times
If that's what it takes to prove my love

That Kellog's tho...
